An Artists Retreat In Bolinas California

I was watching a expose on a community in California called Bolinas.
When I googled images for Bolinas California
up popped this artists retreat.
I was wow'd out
by the interiors so I have posted the home in Bolinas.

I found out who the designer was
and it was a mother daughter team from Truckee Nevada.
Have you ever been to Lake Tahoe?
I have.
My Dad had 2 restaurants on the Lake.
It is amazing there....the area truly is kissed by G-d.

Well, Truckee Nevada is right outside of Tahoe....
on the way to Reno.

Truckee is the town where this mother daughter team have their design studio.
Catherine & Justine Macfee.

I really love the tree trunk inside the kitchen.

Anyway, this town Bolinas California intrigued me,
so I have put some pictures of the beach for you at the end of this post.

Have a great day.
It is finally warming up here in Maine.

Yet....
it is still too cold to go without a jacket.
YUK!

Late Snow In Maine

It seems as though summer will never come.
We have had temps in the 20's all week.

The Mainer's assure me that this has been a horrible winter
and that it is a rare one as well.
In March I was really wondering if I could tolerate
these Maine winters.

But alas......the memory of summer,
and the hope of a Maine summer keeps me going.
Yes.
Summer in Maine is that magical.
I love every day of it.

Arcadia

The lilacs will soon arrive.

The deep green will arrive.

And my favorite summer flower.....
the poppy will come too!!!

You Never Get A Second Chance To Make A First Impression -The Nomad Hotel

THE NOMAD  HOTEL

Wouldn't this make a fabulous movie set.
I think so.
I adore this front desk.

In a Film, this extraordinary look could be used in several time periods.

(maybe I like it so much because the designer used gobs of fabric
and fabulous light fixtures)

The Nomad Hotel

Impressive entrance/
and 'beginning' for a hotel.
No?

Remember you

Divine NYC

The Nomad Hotel

I would be very comfy hiding out here with a book.

The Nomad Hotel

Out of the city into this darkened refuse.
It feels like a great room for a secret meeting.
(use your imagination)
The Nomad Hotel

Straddle right up to this regal bar for a sip of some social lubricant.

I could eat every meal here.....everyday.

The Nomad Hotel's
Roof Top Dining

I love the way the rooms feel as though they are actual bedrooms in a home.

The drapery header is hidden by the cornice
which is a continuation of the molding.
I love the look.

A masculine headboard.
Leather and nailheads.

If I were traveling to NYC often
and for longer periods of time.....
I would make the Nomad Hotel my home away from home.

What do you think of The Nomad?

Striped Walls

This is my favorite striped wall and ceiling effect in this post.
It gives the feel of being in a tented cabana.
How great is that?
And this is totally do-able!!

Another striped wall with the ceiling painted as well.

The striped walls are painted right over the doors.
The door disappears...great!

I love the striped walls
and the stripe is carried over into the fabric on the upholstery.

....just the door striped.
Cool idea if you are too chicken to paint an entire room.
heheheh

LOVE!!

An over the top little girls room
with pink striped walls.

This is a great metal kitchen that has been (probably)
painted with automotive paint,
and the the walls striped.
I love green and black.

How do you feel about striped walls?
